Mahoney Family Medicine is a well-established, highly collaborative practice seeking an experienced Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. We pride ourselves on our fantastic work culture and low turnover, offering providers exceptional clinical autonomy to build and lead a thriving dermatology service line within our community.
Quick Look:
- Schedule: Clinic is open Mon - Fri, 8AM - 4:30PM (closed for lunch 12PM - 1:30PM).
- Full-Time: 4 clinical days/week with 1 remote admin day.
- Part-Time: 2-3 days/week.
- Call/Weekends: Minimal, specialized rotating call (historically 0-2 calls per rotation, as most patients utilize the portal). No weekend clinic hours.
- Location: Outpatient primary care clinic location in Martinsville, VA.
Practice Overview:
- Supportive Environment: Work with exceptional autonomy alongside a team of 1 Board-Certified Physician owner, 8 specialized APPs, and a dedicated support staff featuring a 1:1 Medical Assistant-to-provider ratio and on-site phlebotomy.
- Flexible Scope of Care: Choose to build a strictly specialized dermatology panel or opt for a hybrid primary care and dermatology schedule. Manage a comfortable volume of 12-15 patients per day with flexible appointment lengths tailored to your workflow preferences.
- Clinical Duties: Provide comprehensive "bread and butter" dermatological care, perform skin cancer screenings, and manage minor in-office procedures. Opportunities to incorporate wound care (utilizing our dedicated casting and procedure room) and aesthetics are available but not required.
- Professional Growth: Spearhead the growth of a highly requested dermatology service line within a newly expanding facility.

Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Virginia license (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience: 2+ years of dermatology related practicing experience required.
- Attributes: Strong bedside manner, a relationship-based approach to care, and HIPAA compliance.
