Nephrology & Hypertension of Virginia is a highly regarded, physician-owned practice seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our nephrology team on a part-time basis. Led by a multi-award-winning nephrologist, we offer a highly supportive environment where you will make a profound impact helping patients navigate their care and diagnoses in a unique, growth-oriented, and rewarding role.

Quick Look:

  • Schedule: Part-Time (2-3 days/week). Highly flexible schedule with no on-call, evening, or weekend requirements.
  • Supportive Environment: Work collaboratively alongside 2 Board-Certified Nephrologists, 1 nurse practitioner, 1 Renal Dietitian, and a tenured support staff known for its high retention rate and welcoming culture.
  • Location: Outpatient clinic in Reston, VA. Potential future coverage at Lansdowne or new Tysons location if so inclined.

Practice Overview:

  • Broad Scope of Care: Provide holistic psychosocial support and care coordination for a predominantly younger patient panel (under 50) navigating conditions like chronic kidney diseases (CKD), renal cancer, and renal transplant care. See a comfortable volume of 8-10 patients per day with 60-minute initial visits and 30-minute follow-ups.
  • Clinical Duties: Conduct clinical interviewing, crisis management, life coaching, psychotherapy, and psych assessments (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Assist with critical care coordination, including insurance transitions, Medicare/benefit counseling, discharge planning, and transition of care.
  • Modern Workflows: Option to partake in our CKD education program, conduct home and virtual visits, and lead end-of-life care/advanced care planning discussions.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Offering a competitive hourly rate and benefits package.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Virginia license (LCSW) or eligibility to obtain. Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE Accredited Program required.
  • Experience: Open to all experience levels; highly motivated new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Attributes: Strong bedside manner, a relationship-based approach to care, and HIPAA compliance.
