Part-Time Registered Dietitian (RD) & CDES
Practice: North Woods Endocrinology
Location: The Woodlands, Texas
Schedule: 2 days per week
North Woods Endocrinology seeks a motivated Part-Time Registered Dietitian (RD), ideally with or willing to obtain CDES certification, to provide expert nutritional counseling and diabetes education. You'll work with patients managing endocrine disorders including diabetes, osteoporosis, and obesity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop personalized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) plans for patients with diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, and other endocrine conditions.
- Provide individual counseling on dietary modifications, meal planning, carbohydrate counting, and lifestyle changes.
- Deliver Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES), including blood glucose monitoring, medication management, and use of diabetes technology (insulin pumps).
- Collaborate with endocrinologists and the healthcare team to coordinate integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and stay current with best practices in nutrition and diabetes care.
Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and Texas state licensure.
- CDES credential preferred, or willingness to obtain (training/exam fees covered).
- 1+ year of outpatient experience preferred; exceptional new graduates considered.
- Strong counseling, communication, and organizational skills.
