Nephrology & Hypertension of Virginia | Reston & Lansdowne, VA

Nephrology & Hypertension of Virginia is a highly regarded, physician-owned practice seeking a dedicated registered dietitian to join our nephrology team on a part-time basis. We offer a unique opportunity to provide specialized nutritional counseling within a thriving, patient-focused clinic.

Quick Look:

• Schedule: Part-Time (2-3 days/week). Highly flexible schedule with no on-call, evening, or weekend requirements.
• Supportive Environment: Work alongside two highly regarded nephrologists, a Nurse Practitioner, and a dedicated support staff team.
• Location: Will provide on-site coverage at both our Reston, VA and newly opened Lansdowne, VA outpatient clinics.

Practice Overview:

• Broad Scope of Care: Provide targeted nutritional counseling to a unique, younger nephrology demographic (primarily under 50 years old). Conditions managed include Glomerulonephritis (GN), chronic kidney diseases, renal transplant care, cystic kidney diseases, cardiorenal disease, kidney stones, and hypertension.
• Clinical Duties: Deliver specialized dietary education and nutritional counseling to support optimal renal health and disease management for our nephrology patients.
• Quality Over Quantity: Manage a low-volume schedule of roughly 7-8 patients per day. Benefit from 1-hour time slots for initial visits and 30-minute slots for follow-ups to ensure comprehensive patient education and care.
• Compensation & Benefits: The hourly range for this role is $33 to $45 per hour and is exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Active Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and applicable Virginia state licensure. Board Certification in Renal Nutrition (CSR) is beneficial.
• Experience: Approximately 1 year of experience with nutritional counseling in nephrology (kidney/renal nutrition) or obesity medicine is highly preferred.
• Attributes: Strong bedside manner, a relationship-based approach to care, and HIPAA compliance.
